SugarHouse Casino History
SugarHouse was approved in December 2007. When complete, the casino will cost $550 million dollars. Construction will begin as soon as possible and will be completed in three phases. The first phase, expected to open in 2009 will consist of a temporary casino with a food court. The secnd phase will have more dining and even more casino space.
Rooms at SugarHouse Casino
SugarHouse is planned to have two hotel towers, with a total of 1250 rooms. Hotel construction will be part of phase II & III construction after the temporary casino has been built. Don't bank on booking a room here for a while.

We'll know more about SugarHouse's casino as the project begins to ramp up. Currently we know that the temporary casino will feature 1,500 slot machines, with phase 1 adding 1,500 more and phase II adding 2,000 more for a grand total of 5,000 places to lose your money (or hit the jackpot!) Total casino size will be a whopping 220,000 square feet. Holy moly!
