Valley View is the bullied nerd of California tribal gaming. In the backcountry woods of San Diego, Barona's massive size makes them king. Down the I-15, Pechanga's prime location cannibalizes every casino within a 50-mile radius. As for Harrah's Rincon, their business comes from the cult of Total Rewards.

So what about Valley View? He's that quiet kid in the back of the classroom that got pushed too far, was challenged to a fight after school, and knocked his opponent out in one unexpected strike.

This is that unexpected strike.

Valley View Hotel

Valley View will at last have a hotel component opening November 19th.

Don't let the Macanese weather fool you. For most days of the season, the natural beauty of that mountain range is absolutely *gorgeous*. Valley View's hotel, albeit small, has rooms that make use of an Aria-like, two-sided floor-to-ceiling glass that will take advantage of its cliff-side locale. And check out those suites on the end with the balconies. Beautiful.

As for the pool, yes, that's going to be an infinity edge. The shallow entrance will be a spot for lounge chairs inches inside the water. Of course, it looks like nothing more than concrete right now, but it will be significantly greener in time.

Finally, something in California that offers a Vegas-style wow factor.
