Lake Tahoe area is home to 9 casinos that are clustered in two areas, North Lake Tahoe (Crystal Bay/Incline Village), and South Lake Tahoe (Stateline, NV) What Lake Tahoe offers in addition to hot gaming action is kick ass outdoor activities. Summers can be spent hiking, boating, and camping in the Sierra Nevada mountains, and the winter brings some of the best skiing conditions in all of the west.
Lake Tahoe is chill... very chill. Where Laughlin can be a bit snoozy, Lake Tahoe is chill and full of snowboarders and ski freaks during the winter and outdoorsy hikers and boaters during the summer. For a gambling getaway that can be equally relaxing - try a double scoop of Reno and Lake Tahoe.
If you're looking for the Corleone mansion from Godfather II, it is located north of Homewood, CA on the south eastern side of Lake Tahoe. The Fleur du Lac was originally owned by Henry Kaiser of Kaiser Aluminum... the original building was demolished a few years after the movie was completed and turned into condos. Some of the original boathouses still exist though. Satelitte View of Corleone Mansion in Lake Tahoe (you'll have to toggle out one click for the photos to show)
